Material affects a sign’s appearance, weight, fabrication and fixings. The right choice begins with its setting: indoors or outdoors, viewing distance, background colour, position and supporting surface. No material is best for every application.

Acrylic, aluminium and composite panels

RETINA’s site lists acrylic, aluminium, stainless steel, plastics, aluminium composite material and foam. These support different letter, panel and structural solutions. Surface finish, component dimensions and installation matter alongside the visual effect.

Choosing illumination

Face lighting, a backlit outline and a lightbox create different effects. Façade texture and colour can change the result. A visualisation helps discuss composition; actual brightness and technical construction are established in the project.
